Greatest State Ever

On Tuesday, New Jersey Network (NJN) News aired a report about this year’s New Jersey State Fair. In case you didn’t know the Garden State has a State Fair every year. Like those you would find in the Midwest, there are agricultural contests, live stock, entertainment and of course rides and other amusements. Plus there is a farmer’s market where you can get all sorts of good Jersey Fresh produce and other foods along with plants and other Garden State made products.

The fair, at The Sussex County Fairgrounds, runs through August 10th.

One fun thing about the NJN report is that one of the people they interview is from a neighboring state that some poor misguided souls think is on a par with New Jersey.

Why have we created this blog dedicated to the Greatest State Ever?

Quite simply it is to negate the efforts of a bunch of misguided individuals who somehow have the warped idea that Pennsylvania is the holder of the coveted title Greatest State Ever, despite having “Alabama in the middle” where they have school districts that want to teach creationism. Plus it has a city that makes Newark look like it is run by the Swiss and is home to the professional sports team with the most losses ever.

These misguided souls also want to have another useless holiday (like Malaria Awareness Day) which they want to call “Pennsylvania Day” to honor their inferior state, which apparently doesn’t even call itself a state. If any state deserves a holiday it is New Jersey.

Thanks to them, we realized that there was an urgent need to spread the word about the Garden State and why it is the Greatest State Ever.

Well enough negativity and now on to showing those who don’t know why New Jersey is the Greatest State Ever using fun facts, interesting tidbits, photos and more.
